Mixed feelings on lead generation

I signed up for Houzz Pro, mainly for the lead generation services. The project management tools and invoicing are great, really helped me organize my general contracting business. However, the lead quality for my specific niche (kitchen and bath remodels in a smaller city) has been a bit hit or miss. Some leads were solid, but others weren't quite right for my services, which was a bit frustrating. Customer service was helpful when I called about it, but it still means sifting through more than I'd like. Good value overall, but they could refine the lead targeting.

Pretty decent furniture shopping

I was looking for some outdoor furniture and ended up on Houzz. Found a pretty cool set. The pictures on the site were good, helped me decide. Ordering was straightforward, nothing confusing. It took about a week and a half to get here, which was fine. Everything arrived in good shape. Overall, a solid experience, no complaints.

Always reliable service

This is my third year using Houzz Pro for my interior design business. I started with the project management tools and have since added lead generation. It's consistently good. The client dashboard is a lifesaver for keeping everyone on the same page. No surprises, which is what I need.

Absolutely love Houzz Pro!

I just signed up for Houzz Pro and it's already making a huge difference! The 3D floor planner is incredible and so easy to use. My clients are loving the mood boards I'm creating. I've used the estimates and proposals feature a couple times now, and it's streamlined my process so much. I'm telling all my contractor friends about it – they need this! So happy I finally decided to try it out after the 30-day free trial. Definitely shopping here again for more tools!

I'm an interior designer, do they have any special deals or discounts for trade professionals on the marketplace stuff?

L Linda Nguyen 6 days ago
Oh yeah, totally! Look into their Trade Program. You get special pricing and other benefits on marketplace items.

They definitely have a trade program. My friend's a designer and she gets pretty good discounts through it, saves her a lot on client projects.

So if I sign up for the Houzz Pro annual plan, is there a discount or anything?

R Ryan White 1 month ago
Pretty sure they give you a discount if you pay annually instead of monthly. I think it's like 20% off the total cost for the year.

P Patricia Robinson 1 month ago
Yep, definitely an annual plan discount. It's usually a better deal if you know you'll be using it long term.

Just got a promo code for some kitchen cabinets. Where do I even put that in when I'm checking out?

M Matt W. 1 week ago
There should be a box labeled 'promo code' or 'coupon code' right before you finalize your payment in the checkout flow.

S Susan Perez 1 week ago
You'll see it on the summary page, after you've added items to your cart and started the checkout process. Can't miss it.

how's the return policy on big items like bathroom vanities? what if it shows up damaged or not what i expected?

L Leah Wright 1 month ago
I returned a mirror once, which wasn't huge but still. Process was pretty straightforward online, just follow their steps. If it's damaged, you'd usually contact support immediately.

For furniture and bigger stuff, they generally have a specific return window. I'd check the exact policy on their site, but usually, if it's damaged during shipping, they'll sort you out.

hey, anyone used the houzz pro software? wondering if it's worth it for a small-ish remodeling biz, or if it's overkill.

J Jeff L. 3 weeks ago
I'm a solo designer and it's been pretty solid for me. The 3D planner and client dashboard are great. Definitely helped streamline stuff.

They have a free trial, right? Like 30 days. You could just check it out and see if it fits without committing.

Thinking of getting a new vanity from Houzz, but kinda worried about shipping big stuff. Do they do free shipping for first orders or something?

D Donna Mitchell 1 week ago
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got free shipping on my first order when I bought some lighting last year. It was automatically applied at checkout for me.

Check the product page though, sometimes it depends on the seller within Houzz's marketplace. But a lot of stuff does qualify for free shipping promotions.

Anyone know if Houzz Pro is better than Buildertrend for project management? I'm leaning towards Houzz but want to make sure.

A Amber K. 4 weeks ago
I used Buildertrend for a while, and Houzz Pro feels a bit more integrated with the client-facing side, especially if you're trying to get leads from their platform too. Buildertrend is good for pure PM though.

S Sofia Garcia 4 weeks ago
Depends on what you need most. Houzz Pro's lead gen feature is a big draw if that's a struggle for you. Buildertrend is more focused just on the project side of things.

Does anyone know if Houzz ships to Canada? I'm trying to order some light fixtures but not sure if it'll go through.

M Mary Rivera 3 weeks ago
I'm in the US, but I thought I saw something about them shipping to Canada on their site. You might want to double check the FAQ for international shipping.

My cousin in Vancouver ordered some home decor from them a while back, so I think they do ship there. Might be some restrictions on certain sellers or categories though.
